Steamboat has 500+ miles of singletrack, the downtown core trail and is home to businesses like Moots Cycles, Eriksen Cycles, Honey Stinger, Big Agnes, and Boa. BMX, Mountain Biking, USA Pro Cycling challenge or just tooling around town on your one speed, this town was born for bicyclists.
Just outside of Steamboat Springs nestled alongside Hot Springs Creek lies one of the most spectacular mineral springs in the world. Strawberry Hot Springs is truly an unforgettable experience.
Old Town Hot Springs is located on the eastern edge of downtown a short walk or bus ride from the motel. It is considered one of Colorado’s premier hot springs and a multi-use complex, open to the public.
Haymaker Golf Club is a 233 acre, city-owned public golf course features at least four sets of tees per hole, playing from 5,059 to 7,308 yards. It has been described as a core golf course built for golfers.
The Steamboat Golf Club is family oriented and affordable. The course borders the Yampa River and features beautiful views of the valley and Steamboat ski mountain.
Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort features one of the best golf courses in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. A spectacular 18-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones, II, featuring incredible views of the Yampa Valley with Fish Creek winding its way through seven of the holes. Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club has received multiple awards including four-star ratings and “Best Places to Play in Colorado” from Golf Digest, and “Best Mountain Course” from Colorado AvidGolfer.
With the Yampa River flowing through the heart of downtown, this is the perfect destination to get started in trout fishing. And within a half hour of town, budding anglers can explore countless other mountain lakes and streams. Where to start? Emerald Mountain offers 24 miles of non-motorized multi-use recreational trails. These trails have been planned and constructed for the public to enjoy and allow two-way traffic for pedestrians, bicyclists, and equestrians.
Fish Creek Falls is a must see destination perfect for any ability level. The 283-ft. Cascading waterfall is a winter’s worth of snow melt, crashing over a cliff into the canyon creek below.
The Yampa Rive Botanic Park is a place of serenity, free and open to the public from May-October.
The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series is the most successful weekly rodeo in the country. The Romick Rodeo Arena features the Pro Rodeo Series, every Friday and Saturday night from June through August.
Steamboat Snowmobile Tours offers complimentary shuttle from the Western Lodge to one of their rustic mountain cabins. They offer rides through the beautiful Routt National Forest on the Continental Divide. The area was voted one the best places for snowmobiling in the country! Rides are suitable for all experience levels from novice to experienced.
Steamboat Lake Outpost offers horse drawn sleigh rides, snowmobile tours, ice fishing, guided ski and snowshoeing tours. Shuttle services may be available.
